Once again I am happy to say that Thom Shepherd and the Nashville Songwriters Band is on the move. We're heading to the Middle East this time spending all our time in Saudi Arabia doing five shows in ten days leaving Nashville on September 15.
Those shows will include playing for the troops, the US Embassy and (this is the cool part) a music festival which includes some Saudi bands. There are also some plans for us to jam with the Saudi musicians - a great idea, IMO, especially in light of current events. Music transcends all borders and this will be a great opportunity to let us and the music be some good will ambassadors.
The band is essentially the same with Thom Shepherd doing most of the lead vocals and showmanship on acoustic guitar, Wade Kirby on lead guitar, Todd Cerney on keyboards, Renee' Truex on fiddle, Bob Regan on bass and (back from a hiatus) Tim Buppert on drums. As usual, I'll get up for a song or two and monitor sound, trip logistics, photography and most important - this blog! Brad - Thom's publisher from New Orleans will also be along to lend support.
